Stock Market LIVE Updates: Market expert view
Stock Market LIVE Updates: The key benchmark indices witnessed declines amid US fiscal concerns that the proposed budget bill could significantly increase the national debt, pushing US treasury yield higher due to tepid long term bond demand. Adding to the pressure, a major credit rating agency’s downgrade of the US credit outlook sparked broad-based selloffs across Asian markets. Despite a notable improvement in India’s PMI in May and uptick in fiscal scenario, ongoing uncertainty around US-India trade negotiations and persistent global market volatility are likely to keep Indian equities in a consolidation phase in the near term.

Stock Market Crash LIVE Updates: Nifty seems on course to test 24,400, says Kunal Kamble of Bonanza
Stock Market LIVE Updates: Nifty has witnessed profit booking near the key resistance zone of 25,100–25,300, driven by weak derivative cues and technical signals. FIIs have significantly reduced their long positions from nearly 7 crore contracts before May 8 to 1.49 crore currently, alongside an 8 per cent drop in long open interest (OI) and a 6 per cent rise in short OI, indicating increased bearish positioning.
The 24,400 level, where FIIs held their highest long positions, is expected to act as strong support, while the 24,700 – 24,950 zone, which saw heavy shorting, will likely act as resistance.
The Put-Call Ratio (PCR) has declined from 1.5 to 0.98, reflecting aggressive call writing at higher levels, while the sharp drop in basis from 126.3 to 16.55 suggests limited near-term upside.
Technically, a close below the 20-EMA (24,467) and weakening RSI (with a move below 53) signal growing downside risk. Unless the index decisively breaks above 25,100, a retest of 24,400 appears more likely in the short term.
