Nepal's Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Bishnu Paudel on Thursday unveiled a budget of approximately NPR 1,964 billion for the upcoming fiscal year 2025-26. Paudel allocated NPR 730 million in subsidised loans to support startups in the budget, which was presented during the joint session of the Parliament. The Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) on Saturday presented its budget for 2025-26, prepared under the "Brand Bengaluru" concept, with an outlay of about Rs 19,930 crorean almost 50 per cent increase from the previous fiscal year, officials said. The International Monetary Fund has (IMF) proposed a tax target of over Rs 15 trillion for Pakistan in the next budget, according to a media report on Saturday. The development comes days after the IMF urged Pakistan's Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC) to refrain from granting tax exemptions to international investment projects, including the Chaghi-Gwadar railway track project worth USD 2 billion. ARY News reported citing sources that the IMF delegation maintained that tax exemptions for international investments would hinder the country's revenue generation.
