GT vs LSG highlights: The top order of Lucknow Super Giants once again stood tall as they dented Gujarat Titans’ dream of finishing in the top two of the IPL 2025 points table. Batting first, LSG, with the help of half-centuries from Mitchell Marsh and Nicholas Pooran, posted 235 for 2 on the board. In reply, GT could only reach 202 for 9. Shubman Gill’s side now not only have to win their last game but also hope for PBKS or RCB to lose at least one of their remaining matches if they wish to secure a Qualifier 1 spot.
Earlier, GT won the toss and opted to field first. LSG were given another strong start by their in-form openers, who added 91 runs for the first wicket before Aiden Markram (26) lost his wicket to Sai Kishore while trying to clear the long-off boundary. However, his opening partner Mitchell Marsh continued to attack and even completed his maiden IPL century in 56 balls. Marsh got excellent support from Nicholas Pooran, who also scored a half-century. The duo added 121 runs for the second wicket before Mitchell Marsh (117) was dismissed by Arshad Khan in the 19th over. In the end, Nicholas Pooran (56 not out) and Rishabh Pant (16 not out) added a quickfire 23 runs for the third wicket as LSG finished their innings at 235 for 2.
In reply, GT got off to a good start and added 46 runs for the first wicket before Sai Sudharsan (21) was dismissed by William O'Rourke. Skipper Shubman Gill (35) could not convert his start and lost his wicket to Avesh Khan. Jos Buttler (33) was dismissed in the very next over by Akash Maharaj as LSG pushed GT on the back foot.
Sherfane Rutherford (38) then played a fiery innings before being dismissed by William O'Rourke, who, four balls later, also took the wicket of Rahul Tewatia (2). Arshad Khan (1) lost his wicket to Shahbaz Ahmed in the very next over as the match started to slip away from GT.
Avesh Khan finally dismissed Shahrukh Khan (57) as GT ended their innings at 202 for 9 on the board, giving LSG a 33-run victory.
