Royal Challengers Bengaluru failed to make it a hat-trick of wins on the night as the Gujarat Titans spoiled the party in Bengaluru with an 8-wicket win in match number 14 of the IPL 2025 at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium tonight.
Gujarat registered their 2nd win of the tournament courtesy of an all-round display, which saw them chase down 172 within 18 overs. Jos Buttler's 39-ball 73* paired up with crucial cameos by Sai Sudharshan, among others gave the visitors a big confidence-boosting win in Bengaluru.
The win took Gujarat's tally to 4 points as well, level with RCB at the top.
Earlier, Royal Challengers Bengaluru had set a 170-run target against Gujarat Titans in match number 14 of the IPL 2025 at the Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru.
Liam Livingstone's fiery fifty steered the hosts to a respectable total in the 1st innings. Siraj had a good homecoming as he played against his former side, RCB, for the first time and ended up bagging a 3-fer on the night.
While Virat Kohli and Phil Salt were dismissed early on in the powerplay, it was Jitesh Sharma (33 off 21) and Liam Livingstone (54) who helped put some crucial runs on the scoreboard in their 20 overs.
Shubman Gill and co. would be satisfied by restricting the hosts to a reasonable total and would be looking forward to chase down the total on the night. RCB 1st innings scorecard:
