Jaipur International Airport Ltd has started a major infrastructure upgrade aimed at enhancing passenger convenience and accommodating the increasing number of travellers.
As many as 14 projects, cumulatively exceeding Rs 600 crore, have been launched to transform various facets of the airport to enhance efficiency and overall passenger experience, an official said.
"These projects collectively aim to elevate the infrastructure of Jaipur Airport, ensuring it meets international benchmarks and provides an enhanced travel experience," he said.
Under the plan, Terminal 2 is being expanded, which, he said, is a crucial component of the infrastructure development plan.
Jaipur International Airport Ltd  (JIAL) is a subsidiary of Adani Airport Holdings Limited.
"The 15,000 sq mt of expansion will enhance the overall capacity of the existing terminal. Currently, the terminal has 39 check-in counters with 24 new counters planned to be added during the expansion. This will bring the total .

Air India and Air Mauritius on Monday announced expanding their codeshare partnership that will provide enhanced connectivity for India with South Africa, Reunion and Madagascar through Mauritius.
As part of the strengthened bilateral codeshare agreement, Air India and Air Mauritius will place their designator codes on a total of 17 routes between India, Mauritius, Reunion, South Africa and Madagascar, according to a release.
Generally, a codeshare partnership allows an airline to book its passengers on its partner carrier on a single ticket.
"Air India will place its 'AI' designator code on Air Mauritius flights to and from Cape Town and Johannesburg in South Africa, and Antananarivo in Madagascar," it said.
The airline already codeshares on Air Mauritius flights between Mauritius and Mumbai, Delhi and Reunion.

Air India Express will launch daily direct flights between Bengaluru and Kathmandu on June 1.
"The new route builds on our recent expansion into short-haul international leisure destinations such as Bangkok and Phuket," Aloke Singh, Managing Director, Air India Express, said in a press release.
Bookings are now open on the airline's website, airindiaexpress.com, and other major booking channels, with inaugural fares starting at Rs 8,000 for Xpress Lite and Rs 8,500 for Xpress Value.
From Bengaluru, the flight will depart at 5.05 am daily and it will depart Kathmandu at 9.05 am.

Domestic airline IndiGo on Saturday announced its direct flight services to Adampur (Jalandhar) in Punjab from Mumbai, starting July 2.
Adampur will be the airline's 92nd domestic and 133rd overall destination, IndiGo said.
This new direct connection will provide Punjab's agricultural and industrial sectors easier access to the major ports in the Mumbai metropolitan region, boosting trade opportunities, it added.
The airline also said the new route has been strategically introduced to cater to the needs of business and leisure customers, providing them with convenient travel options.
"As Adampur becomes our 55th domestic and 77th overall destination from Mumbai, the new route will boost connectivity and economic opportunities. We will continue to enhance our domestic network, catering to the rising demand for air travel in the region," said Vinay Malhotra, head of global sales at IndiGo.
